Dividend income includes dividends of profits or surplus received from domestic and foreign corporations, deemed dividends, income from collective investment vehicles, and income from derivative-linked securities and derivative-linked bonds, among others.

Income from derivative-linked securities whose returns depend on gold or silver prices, such as gold and silver banking, is also treated as dividend income. Dividend income is also in principle subject to withholding when paid.
