In KOSPI market IPOs and public offerings, 20% of the offered shares must be allocated to the employee stock ownership association, which is made up of the company's officers and employees.
If the association, following a resolution of its general meeting of members, indicates in writing that it wishes to be allocated less than 20%, the shortfall may be allocated to other investor groups such as retail subscribers or institutional investors.
