What is a lock-up commitment?
النسخة العربية من هذه الصفحة قيد الإعداد. يُعرض المحتوى بالإنجليزية إلى حين اكتمالها.
A lock-up commitment is a promise by an institutional investor not to sell its IPO shares for a certain period after listing (e.g., 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months or 6 months) in return for a larger allocation.
When the commitment period ends, large sell orders may emerge and affect the share price, so it is a good idea to check the number of committed shares and when they become sellable in advance. This information can be found in the 'Allocations to institutional investors by lock-up commitment period' section of the report on securities issuance results.
