In January 2025, the financial authorities announced measures to tighten delisting requirements and streamline procedures so that underperforming companies can be removed in a timely manner.
The measures raise the market capitalization requirement (KOSPI from KRW 5 billion to KRW 50 billion, KOSDAQ from KRW 4 billion to KRW 30 billion) and the revenue requirement (KOSPI from KRW 5 billion to KRW 30 billion, KOSDAQ from KRW 3 billion to KRW 10 billion) in stages over several years starting in 2026, and shorten the maximum improvement period. They also include support for enabling shares of delisted companies to be traded on K-OTC.
