Where do I apply to be designated an individual professional investor?

Since the reform on November 21, 2019, individual professional investor designation has been handled not by the Korea Financial Investment Association but by financial investment business entities (securities firms) specified by the Financial Services Commission.

Under the criteria at the time of the reform, financial investment business entities with assets of KRW 100 billion or more that engage in dealing in securities and similar instruments receive the investor's supporting documents and review whether the requirements are met. Proof of meeting the requirements must be kept current (within 2 years).
