A distributor enters into a sales agreement with the asset manager, sells the fund to investors, and receives and processes investors' redemption requests.

Only firms authorized by the Financial Services Commission may sell funds, and employees qualified to sell them must do so in accordance with investment solicitation guidelines. Today, funds are mainly sold by banks, securities firms and insurance companies.
