Equal allocation is a method in which at least 50% of the shares an underwriter allocates to retail subscribers are divided equally among all subscribers who paid at least the minimum subscription deposit.
The rest are allocated in proportion to the number of shares subscribed for (proportional allocation). Introduced at the end of 2020, it has given small investors more opportunity to receive IPO shares.
