A SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) is a nominal company established for the purpose of merging with a promising unlisted company or a similar entity.
It first goes public and lists on the exchange to raise funds for the merger, and then merges with an unlisted company or similar entity within 36 months of listing. Once the merger takes place, the target company is effectively listed.
