In July 2023, the government and related institutions announced 14 tasks to improve the technology special listing system.
A 'super-gap technology special listing' was created under which companies in advanced technology fields, such as national strategic technologies, with a market capitalization of KRW 100 billion or more and investment of KRW 10 billion or more attracted over the last 5 years need a technology assessment from only 1 agency. In addition, if a company listed through a technology special listing becomes insolvent within 2 years, the securities firm that managed that listing faces stronger responsibilities when it arranges special listings afterwards, such as granting put-back options and extending lock-up periods.
