Is no tax withheld if the withholding amount is under KRW 1,000?

There is a small-amount exemption under which tax is not withheld if the withholding amount is less than KRW 1,000.
However, for interest income paid to residents, tax must be withheld even if the amount is less than KRW 1,000. That is why even small amounts of deposit interest may be paid with tax deducted.
