Can private funds advertise?

Investment advertising for general private funds is heavily restricted. Distributors may advertise only to professional investors or to general investors whose financial investment product balance on the day before the advertisement is at least a certain amount (KRW 300 million for funds with leverage of 200% or less, and KRW 500 million for funds above that).

In addition, they must inform those investors individually by letter, telephone, email or similar means, rather than in a way that is open to the general public.
