What is the PBS that securities firms provide to private funds?

PBS (Prime Brokerage Service) is a business in which a securities firm links and provides comprehensively a range of services needed to manage private funds, such as securities lending and borrowing, credit extension, and custody and administration of fund assets.

Since the 2021 reform, PBS securities firms that provide leverage, such as credit, to private funds must assess and manage the level of that risk.
