What are high-yield bonds?

Русская версия этой страницы готовится. Пока текст показан на английском.

High-yield bonds are bonds rated below investment grade (speculative grade) by credit rating agencies; they carry a higher risk of default but offer higher yields than investment-grade bonds.

When the economy worsens, issuers' likelihood of default tends to increase. Rather than looking only at the high interest, consider the issuer's ability to repay and your own risk tolerance as well.
