Not always. Depending on the financial company, an early sale service may not be offered for bonds bought over the counter, and even where it is, an unfavorable price may be set depending on trading conditions and market interest rates.
It is best to match your investment period to the remaining maturity so that you do not put money you will need in the short term into long-term bonds.
