What are interim dividends and quarterly dividends?

A company that closes its accounts once a year may, if its articles of incorporation so provide, pay an interim dividend once during the business year by board resolution (Commercial Act).

Stock-listed corporations may, as provided in their articles of incorporation, pay quarterly cash dividends by board resolution made within 45 days from the last day of March, June and September, and quarterly dividends must in principle be paid within 1 month from the date of the resolution. In both cases, there are limits based on factors such as the net assets of the preceding fiscal period.
