Taxes & Tax Rules
What is the tax-free limit for an ISA?
Under the Restriction of Special Taxation Act, up to KRW 2 million of the combined interest and dividend income from an ISA is tax-free, and up to KRW 4 million for the low-income type and the farmer/fisher type, which require meeting conditions such as total wages of KRW 50 million or less in the preceding tax period.
Amounts above the tax-free limit are taxed separately at 9% and are not included in the comprehensive taxation of financial income. When income is calculated, losses from products within the account are deducted.
