What is the appraisal right (right to demand a share purchase)?

Den svenska versionen av den här sidan förbereds. Tills vidare visas innehållet på engelska.

When the general meeting of shareholders resolves on a matter that greatly affects shareholders' interests, such as a merger or a transfer or acquisition of business, shareholders who opposed it have the right to demand that the company buy their shares.

Dissenting shareholders must notify the company of their opposition in writing before the general meeting and submit a written purchase demand within 20 days from the date of the resolution, and the company must purchase the shares within 2 months from the end of the demand period. The purchase price is set by agreement, and if no agreement is reached, it follows the market price calculation method prescribed by law.
