Taxes & Tax Rules

How is financial income taxed when the real name has not been verified?

According to the National Tax Service, a withholding rate of 45% applies to interest and dividend income whose real-name holder has not been verified, and 90% applies to income from non-real-name financial assets under the Act on Real Name Financial Transactions.

Such income is subject to separate taxation, with taxation concluded by withholding. Always conduct financial transactions in your own real name to avoid these disadvantages.
