Are gains from selling bonds taxed?

De Nederlandse versie van deze pagina is in voorbereiding. Tot die tijd staat de tekst in het Engels.

For individuals, bonds are not listed among the assets subject to capital gains tax under the Income Tax Act, so trading gains arising from changes in bond prices are generally not taxed in themselves.

However, when you sell a bond or receive interest, the amount equivalent to interest for your holding period is treated as interest income and taxed. If you invest in other forms, such as funds or derivative-linked securities, the tax treatment may differ, so check.
