Investor Protection
Can I check whether a door-to-door or telephone salesperson actually works for the financial company?

Under the Financial Consumer Protection Act, a financial company that intends to conduct door-to-door or telephone sales must keep a register of the officers and employees involved and must allow consumers to verify their identity at any time on request.
Salespeople must state in advance that the visit or call is for the purpose of sales solicitation, as well as their name and the type and details of the products they are selling. If you have doubts about someone's identity, verify it directly through the financial company's official contact details.
