Investor Protection
What is unfair solicitation?
Unfair solicitation refers to practices in recommending a contract such as providing conclusive judgments on uncertain matters, misrepresenting the details of a product, or failing to disclose matters that significantly affect its value.
It is also prohibited to claim that a product is better than others without objective grounds, to recommend investment products through unrequested visits or phone calls, or to keep recommending after the consumer has declined. Having people who have not completed job training under internal control standards carry out solicitation also constitutes unfair solicitation.
